Sargent Crabapple is the smallest and most garden-friendly of the ornamental crabapples, maturing at just 6–10 feet tall with a dense, spreading habit. In spring, deep red-pink buds open to masses of fragrant, pure white flowers that nearly obscure the branches. Tiny bright red fruits decorate the tree in fall and persist into winter, providing essential food for songbirds. Its naturally compact, broad-spreading form is perfect for smaller landscapes, foundation plantings, and areas where a standard tree would overwhelm the space. Low-maintenance and disease-resistant when properly sited.
