Ohio Everbearing is a red × white mulberry hybrid (Morus rubra × M. alba) that produces sweet, dark fruit over an extended season from early summer into fall. White mulberry was originally introduced to North America for colonial silk production, and natural hybridization between the native red and introduced white species is now widespread. The result here is a vigorous, hardy tree with a prolonged fruiting window — fruit is excellent fresh, in preserves, and as a reliable draw for birds and wildlife. Extremely low-maintenance once established and tolerant of a wide range of soils.
